Terrance Kent is a veteran in the global media information and marketing research businesses. His career has focused on managing the operational and cultural transformations of dozens of companies. Achievements include successfully executing merger and acquisitions, and corporate expansion activities at companies ranging from start-ups to complex international organizations.
Having started his business career at Dun and Bradstreet, Terry moved to VNU (a large Dutch media communications company) in the mid 80’s where he held a variety of executive-level positions and established a successful track record re-engineering and integrating VNU assets. During his tenure he held several key leadership roles, including various President and Group President/Chairman positions. As an original member of VNU’s acquisition and management team in the US, Terry was integrally involved in the Nielsen Media Research acquisition (1999) and the subsequent divestiture of Competitive Media Reporting (CMR).
At the start of the new millennium Terry co-founded Baltic Ventures LLC as a means to advance his activities and global leadership in the media and marketing research sector. During this period he was also a personal investor and US Chief Executive Officer of Hippon™, a “virtual agent”, answer-engine software company. In 2008 Terry joined TNS Media as Digital Development Director. Shortly after, and post-acquisition of TNS by WPP/Kantar, he was named Corporate Business Development Director for Kantar Media and later that year was appointed CEO, Kantar Media North America. His latest assignment at Kantar was as Global CEO of the consolidated Ad Intelligence business for Kantar Media.
Recently, after many years in the corporate world, Terry has transitioned back into a mentoring and advisory role helping early phase and start-up companies get to their next level of success. He formed The Kent Advisory Group, LLC in July of 2017.
Terry belongs to several industry bodies in the marketing and media research space and recently was nominated President of the Market Research Council for the 2017 – 2018 session. He is a graduate of Lehigh University with a degree in science and engineering.
